I waited an entire year before writing this review, as I do not particularly enjoy having to state something negative online. Let me first give acknowledge the innkeepers who were very cordial people, and who no doubt are trying hard create a nice environment. However, things were not that great in our room, the Joseph Courtemanche Suite. The acoustic ceiling tiles were cracked and stained, and the green wall paint did not fully meet the ceiling, showing sloppy brush strokes. The sofa, which converts to a bed, was painfully uncomfortable. If you are going to charge nearly $300 a night for a room, you must live up the to expectations that go along with that. This did not. Downstairs there is a bar where we got 2 bottles of beer to bring up to our room. We were charged $24 plus tax. For the same amount of money per night, you could stay in the White House Inn just a mile or two down the road that is truly an excellent and beautiful Victorian mansion with top notch cuisine. That place gets 5 stars, but not this one. This is just a 3-star inn with 5-star prices.
We just got back from a wonderful weekend away and the Wilmington Inn is the place to stay. It is charming, clean, and our bed was so comfortable. The owners of the inn, Megan and Charlie were both amazing. They each have such wonderful qualities; Megan's baking and breakfast is out of this world and Charlie is a great people-person. You won't be disappointed if you stay here. Highly recommend. My husband and I cannot wait to go back.
A fabulous experience! Beautiful room in a lovely village. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious. The pancakes were the best we've ever had! Innkeepers Charlie and Megan were so helpful and so accomodating. We plan on returning every year.
My husband and I stayed at The Wilmington Inn in November. It is the perfect place to relax and getaway. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. The innkeepers, Charlie and Megan, were welcoming and hospitable. They provided great dinner recommendations within walking distance and a very relaxing atmosphere. Megan's apple pancakes were to die for! The inn is a short drive from Mount Snow which was very convenient. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!
This is a fantastic Bed and Breakfast. The rooms have been updated and have modern necessities like USB chargers. The breakfast was delicious and highlighted Vermont staples. We read in the relaxing common room for hours. The Inn also has a large porch, a bar and a fire pit where you can toast s'mores. Charlie and Megan are hospitable proprietors. Charlie even drove us to the restaurant down the street so we wouldn't get soaked in the rainstorm. We would have walked otherwise, since the Inn is close to Wilmington's great restaurants.
